Provides a character building, ethics-based curriculum program for students at Hart Elementary, Pecan Springs Elementary, Harris Elementary, and Wayside Academy.
Helping Hand Home for Children
Serves as a liaison to and coordinates support for the Helping Hand Home for Children, a Club activity dating back to 1923. Events include the Back-To-School Splash Bash, Holiday Party, etc.
Collect gently used children’s book for distribution at area medical clinics and deliver new books to give to families at the clinics for well checks. We coordinate Club efforts in support of Literacy events at Pecan Springs Elementary.
Work with other hospitality industry organizations to provide an unexpected weekend “getaway” for selected members of Ft. Hood’s military forces.
Partners in Education
Develops and conducts programs to assist students and faculty at Lively Middle School, ie mentoring, acquiring library books, and occasional fundraising for school initiatives as well as events, volunteers and supplies at Pecan Springs Elementary.
By means of an application, review and interview process, selects student recipients of scholarship funds controlled by the Club and the Austin Rotary Club Foundation.
